Fundraising Campaigns in Canada:
What’s Enduring.
What’s Evolving.
What’s Emerging.
Campaigns remain one of the most powerful tools in fundraising, but the environment in which they operate is changing. KCI’s 2026 Campaign Trends Report explores how fundraising campaigns in Canada are evolving, from shifting donor behaviour and shorter pledge horizons to the growing role of major gifts and more expansive campaign priorities.
Drawing on national survey insights and KCI’s experience advising campaigns across the country, the report highlights a sector that is adapting in real time. Campaigns are no longer episodic efforts. They are becoming a continuous strategy, with organizations moving fluidly between planning, execution, and the next phase of growth.
At the same time, many of the fundamentals remain firmly in place. Relationships continue to anchor results, transformational gifts are increasingly central to success, and strong leadership, both staff and volunteer, remains critical. What is changing is how campaigns are structured, resourced, and positioned in response to greater complexity, rising expectations, and a more concentrated donor landscape.
Grounded in both data and practice, this report offers a clear view of what is working now and what organizations should be considering as they plan and navigate their next campaign.
