Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access (IDEA) @ KCI /
As a firm, KCI has a strong commitment to equity and inclusivity. We are proud that our own staff represents various dimensions of diversity, including gender, racial, sexual orientation, regional/ geographical, age, education, physical abilities, and language.
KCI has been intentional in building the diversity of our own team to benefit from a variety of diverse perspectives and experiences. 80% of KCI’s Leadership Team is comprised of women, and more than 20% of KCI’s nation-wide staff identify as racialized.
One of our firm’s core values is an “openness to new ideas” and, to this end, an ongoing commitment to personal and corporate learning is critical. KCI’s staff have benefitted from proactive and ongoing exploration, dialogue, and training in diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and reconciliation. The firm has a collective commitment to continue to grow our team and culture through strong principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
Our KCI Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) working group is leading the implementation of an organization-wide learning plan for all staff to bolster their skillsets and eliminate unconscious bias. As part of this plan, all KCI employees have recently completed a four-module Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training course that is provided by the Indigenous Leadership Development Institute. In addition, our KCI Search + Talent team has developed a framework entitled ‘Reducing Unconscious Bias in Hiring’ that guides both our approach to ensuring equitable and inclusive searches for our clients, and our own recruitment efforts at KCI. Finally, several of our Partners and staff are actively involved in IDEA work at the national and international levels of AFP.
