Donation is toward Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver’s 42-unit affordable housing complex development in Coquitlam.

An anonymous donor gave $25,000,000 to the Health and Homelessness Fund for Change, a fund managed by the London Community Foundation which aims to address ongoing issues of homelessness, poverty, mental health, and addictions in London. The donor additionally stated they will match donations made to the Fund up to $5,000,000.

Bell announced it is ending its annual practice of donating five cents to mental health programs each time someone uses the phrase “Bell Let’s Talk” on designated Bell Let’s Talk Day each year, and will instead make a $10,000,000 lump sum donation to Canadian mental health initiatives.

Donation is in support of the creation of a new learning lab, which will provide centralized access to clinical educators for staff, as well as room for collaboration, course development, planning sessions for workshops and orientation programs.

Donation will be given over 10 years in support of student achievement in entrepreneurship in several ways. $1,000,000 will go toward the resurfacing of the previously named BMO Centre soccer pitch; $500,000 to create a student award; and $500,000 to sponsor the BMO Apex Business Plan Competition for 10 years.

Donation supports a pediatric liquid biopsy research project being done at the Child Health and Human Development Program at the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre, which is supported by the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. An additional $5,000,000 donation from the Fondation Charles-Bruneau was announced alongside the gift.

The Diamond Foundation announced it would give $25,000,000 toward the JWest project, which aims to redevelop the Jewish Community Centre in Vancouver, provided the community could match the donation. 24 families have matched the Diamond Foundation’s gift, brining the total amount raised by the community to $75,000,000.

Donation will help purchase new technology and equipment.

Donation comes from the Grain Farmers of Ontario Legacy Fund and will be used by the Ridgetown Campus toward the creation of a new professorship in field crop pathology in the department of plant agriculture within the University’s Ontario Agricultural College.

In addition to having given over $100,000 in 2022, Hutton Forest Products has committed to long-term support of Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

Donation is from LOVE YOU by Shoppers Drug Mart to Moon Time Sisters, a project of True North Aid. In addition to the gift from LOVE YOU, Joe Fresh will be donating 10,000 pairs of a new absorbent underwear product.

Half of the donation will be used to create 10 student bursaries at the Thunder Bay campus and five at the Orillia campus. The remaining funds will go toward student experience priorities, including library spaces and student awards.

Laurentian Bank of Canada donated $400,000 through its Giving Beyond Numbers program to 7 organizations dedicated to advancing equity in economic inclusion. Recipients include NIB Trust Fund; Action LGBTQ+ avec les immigrantEs et les réfugiés; the 519; Multi-Ethnic Association for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities; The Centre Francophone du Grand Toronto; and Petites-Mains, each of which received $50,000; and United for Literacy (formerly Frontier College) which received $100,000.

Donation will support three programs designed to reach families facing disadvantages: the Alligator Pie, Mother Goose, and Inclusive Storytimes programs. Donation will be given over three years.

The donation will be distributed amongst 7 local organizations leading initiatives to support women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse individuals. Recipients include: $40,000 each to Halton Women’s Place and Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services; $31,200 to Home Suite Hope; $30,000 to Big Brothers, Big Sisters; $28,800 the Women’s Centre of Halton; $20,000 to Black Mentorship Inc.; and $10,000 to Shifra Homes.

Sun Life Canada announced it aims to commit a total of $3,700,000 to support mental health programs for at-risk and marginalized youth in Canada over the next three years. The organizations receiving funding are Atlantic Wellness; Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation; Carizon Family and Community Services; Foundry BC; Lay-Up; Michael Garron Hospital and Michael Garron Hospital Foundation; Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Foundation; OK2BME; Unity Charity; and VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation.

Donation is through the TD Ready Commitment and is in support of the campaign to create a new 96-bed nursing home for Wiikwemkoong Elders.

Donation supports the launch of a new program for entrepreneurial innovation and sustainability at the Desautels Faculty of Management’s Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship.
